New Mattel Toy Recall Information

Mattel has two new toy recalls today:

Visit Mattel to get information about returning your recalled toys for a voucher, or to find out specific model and serial numbers for all the toys.

Lead Paint Hazard - Pixar Cars Movie - Die Cast Car - Sarge - from the Pixar Movie Assortment. The recalled Sarge Cars were sold both individually and in assortment packs nationwide between May 2007 and August 2007. Car is about 3 inches long and army green color with white star on hood. Only cars marked with "China" on bottom may be affected. Product code is on bottom. If the last three characters are 7EA, the product is affected and should be returned. Other codes are not affected. Remove from children immediately and return to the manufactured for a replacement voucher.

Magnet Hazard - Some Polly Pocket sets, Batman Magna, Doggie Daycare sets, One Piece and Barbie & Tanner Play sets are affected. If you own any products fitting this description, immediately stop using them and search your home and other child play areas for loose or liberated magnets. Take them away from children immediately.

It appears that Mattel is recalling all the older (pre-January 2007) sets in these lines to make sure no loose magnets affect children. Similar sets were already recalled in 2006. Newly recalled sets can be sent in for replacement toy vouchers. For the Barbie and Tanner set, only the scoop is affected - so only that part will be replaced for you, not the whole set.
