Today is Bloggers Unite Day and we're uniting against all kinds of abuse. This just gives me another reason to write about a subject that I have profiled on this blog before. Just today in our city, Jacksonville, Florida, the police arrested a ring of sexual traffickers who had been "importing" women from south and central America to use as sexual slaves for migrant and/or illegal workers in Florida.This happens everywhere! It's not just happening to foreign women and children brought into this country to abuse. Women and children are being kidnapped and sold right here in the United States in order to fill the depraved needs of sexual deviants. One organization that really makes a difference here and abroad to help people get out of this prison and to prevent it from happening to others is the Ricky Martin Foundation - People for Children. Ricky has been working tirelessly for years to help get the word out among the various governments and leaders in countries around the world to help pass laws and inact punishments to stop the spread of this violence and abuse towards women and children everywhere. I encourage you to support this organization and others who are trying to make a difference today and every day!
